Coolest would be to keep both engines. That would give enough horsepower that pre ’72 bays could be used with stock bug motors. Shouldn’t be too difficult to couple the clutch, shifting and gas together. My 2c.

I think we are going to run electric drive in the rear (for on-playa use at Burning Man) and then Type4 power in the front bus (for on-road performance).

    Should work out well.

Brakes on all 6 wheels though πŸ™‚

If you have to run the engine on of the vehicle in front, consider building an exhaust system that will let out exhaust well up and above the buses – kinda like you would find on a semi truck. Otherwise the fumes in bus #2 will be unbearable.

As for ease of getting in and out, would it be possible to run them like the hueys, with the sides open? Then people can get in and out easily, as well as allow for great ventilation. Of course it may get a tad dusty πŸ™‚ but it may be worth it.

The project looks way cool! Looking forward to seeing it on the playa.

Best of luck with the build!

Hey i got ahold of the evolution of the VW bus vinyl wrap. I am trying to get the other side. I will take a photo of if and see if you want to wrap buszilla for BM Evolution other wise we can use it for a sign…
